Dance Times, Costs, Locations

Starting times
Unless otherwise noted, the dances are from 8 to 11 p.m., with the exception of the Sebastopol English dance, which is from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Beginners' Orientation
Each dance except for the Sebastopol English dance features a beginners' orientation about one half-hour before the official beginning of the dance.

Admission rates

Admission to all NBCDS-sponsored contra dances (Santa Rosa, San Rafael, Sonoma, and Sebastopol) is $8 for members of NBCDS and its affiliates, $10 for non-members, $2 for children.
Sebastopol English admission is $6 for members, $7 for non-members, and $3 for children.
Admission to the Napa Valley contra is $10.
Ukiah admission is $7 for adults, $3 for children.
Admission for the San Rafael "Contra Plus" is $10 for members, $11 for non-members. Contra Plus includes an hour of couple dancing from 6:30 to 7:30. Contra only admission is $8 for members, $10 for non-members.

Petaluma

Directions:
The dance is at Hermanns Sons Hall which is located at 860 Western Ave. in Petaluma, not far from downtown. From the south: take the first Petaluma exit (Pet Blvd So); head north into downtown; (after B St.) turn left/west onto Western, then approx 10 blocks to the hall. From the north or east: take the Washington Street exit; drive west toward downtown; cross Pet Blvd; (after Keller) turn left on Liberty; turn right on Western, approx 8 blocks to hall.

San Rafael

Sebastopol

Wischemann Hall, 460 Eddie Lane, Sebastopol. Go to end of Morris St., off Hwy. 12, one light east of hwy. 116.

Note: This map is for 499 Morris St., which is not, technically speaking, the address of Wischemann Hall.
Wischemann Hall is a small older building to the left of the Sebastopol Teen Center, which is to the left of the Sebastopol Comunity Center at the end of Morris St. If you try to map 460 Eddie Ln. in any of the online map programs, it shows it at the wrong end of Eddie Ln. So please don't do that; just use this link, which really does show you where the hall is.

And that leads to my next point . . .

The online map programs, Google Maps and Mapquest and all the rest of them, are kind of confused about where 460 Eddie St. is and for that matter where Sebastopol is. If you ask for directions from San Francisco or the East Bay, they take you on this ridiculous route via Todd Rd. and Llano Rd., which will in fact get you there, but you'll get a scenic tour of Sonoma County that you probably didn't want. And if you ask for directions to 460 Eddie St., you'll end up over by Analy High School looking at a locked gate and wondering where you are. So we really don't recommend using these tools, useful though they are under most circumstances. Just get yourself on highway 12 headed toward Sebastopol, and turn right at the first light after you cross the bridge over the Laguna. That's Morris St. Wischemann Hall is at the end, where it starts curving to the left. Do that without any help from the Internet.� You'll be happier, really you will.
